Hockey New Brunswick Announces Exciting Development Events in Conjunction with the 2026 Esso Cup
In partnership with Hockey Canada, Hockey New Brunswick is excited to announce a number of development activities to be held in conjunction with the Esso Cup, taking place at the UNIplex in Dieppe, from April 19th – 25th.
For the first time, the Esso Cup will be held in New Brunswick. The Moncton Rockets of the Maritime Major Girls Hockey League (MMGHL) will welcome club champions from the following regions to the event: Atlantic, Ontario, Pacific, Quebec, and West. Teams will compete during the week in hopes of winning Canada’s Women’s U18 National Club Championship.

Friday April 17th - U9 Skills Camp
This skills camp is for U9 players only (girls born in 2018 and 2017).
Players who participate in the U9 skills camp will receive:
- Two 60-minute ice sessions focusing on skills, small area games, and fun
- One off-ice development session focusing on fitness and teamwork
- A Hockey New Brunswick jersey
- 2 tickets for the 7:00 pm game on Sunday, April 19th (Rockets vs Atlantic)

Saturday April 18th - U11 and U13 skills camps
The U11 skills camp is for girls born in 2015 and 2016. The U13 skills camp is for girls born in 2013 and 2014.

- One off-ice development session focusing on fitness and teamwork
- A Hockey New Brunswick jersey
- 2 tickets for the 7:00 pm game on Sunday, April 19th (Rockets vs Atlantic)

Saturday, April 20th – ‘Skate Your Way’ Jamboree
The Hockey New Brunswick “Skate Your Way” jamboree will be hosted on Saturday, April 18th in Dieppe at the UNIplex. Younger players and those who require a helper will hit the ice from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Older skaters will hit the ice from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm. After each session, there will be a pizza party. The Jamboree is only open to players who were registered in the Skate Your Way program during the 2025-2026 season.
Participants will receive 1 ticket to the 7:00 pm game on Sunday, April 19th (Rockets vs Atlantic).

Sunday April 19th - U9/U11 and U13/U15 Goalie Clinics
The U9/U11 goalie clinic is open to girls who were born in 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015.
The U13/U15 goalie clinic is open to girls who were born in 2014, 2013, 2012, and 2011.
Players who participate in the U9/U11 and U13/U15 goalie clinics will receive:
- Two 60-minute ice sessions that focus on goalie-specific skills
- One off-ice development session focusing on fitness
- A Hockey New Brunswick jersey
- 2 tickets for the 7:00 pm game on Sunday, April 19th (Rockets vs Atlantic)

Monday April 20th – Coaches night
On Coaches night, we will be offering a free Coach 1 / Coach 2 course for women. This We are Coaches clinic is tailored to women who coach at the community level and for women who are interested in coaching next season. The clinic will provide attendees with their Coach 1 / Coach 2 certification and will consist of a 60-minute classroom session and a 60-minute on-ice session.
Note that all U7 and U9 head and assistant coaches require Coach 1 certification. U11-U18 (C, B, A, AA) head and assistant coaches require Coach 2 certification.

Tuesday, April 21st – Officials night
The clinic will include a 60-minute off-ice session and a 60 minute on-ice session. It will be open to all Female Officials and females interested in officiating this season. The off-ice session will be led by Hockey Canada Officiating supervisors as well as Officials from the Esso Cup, providing direction from the top female officials in the country.
During the on-ice session, officials will go through skating drills as well an overview of positioning, face-offs and other officiating related procedures. This is open to experienced officials and women who are interested in officiating.
Participants will receive 1 ticket for the 7:00 pm game on Tuesday, April 21st (Rockets vs Ontario).

Wednesday, April 22nd – U7 Esso Fun Days
The Esso Fun Days are open to U7 female players of all skill levels, including new hockey players. Each Esso Fun Day includes an on-ice session, off-ice session, and a pizza party. All players will receive a Hockey Canada / Esso Fun Day jersey.
Participants will receive 2 tickets to the 7:00 pm game on April 22nd (Rockets vs. West) at the UNIplex.
