Hockey Canada Non-Sanctioned League Policy
Hockey New Brunswick is providing this update regarding the Hockey Canada Non-Sanctioned League Policy (attached as Appendix A). In addition to implementing the national policy, Hockey New Brunswick has strengthened its application in the following ways:
- Player Eligibility:
- Under Hockey Canada policy, any player who participates in a non-sanctioned league after the September 30 cut-off date will be ineligible for the remainder of the season to roster with or affiliate to any Hockey Canada sanctioned team that is eligible to compete in Regional or National Championships.
- In addition, Hockey New Brunswick specifies that these players are also ineligible to be rostered or affiliated with any Senior team.
- Reinstatement: Players may apply for reinstatement by submitting a formal application and supporting documentation to the Reinstatement Committee.
- Under Hockey Canada policy, any player who participates in a non-sanctioned league after the September 30 cut-off date will be ineligible for the remainder of the season to roster with or affiliate to any Hockey Canada sanctioned team that is eligible to compete in Regional or National Championships.
- Officials:
- An official who officiates a non-sanctioned league game after September 30 may continue to officiate Minor Hockey games but will be ineligible to officiate Junior A, Junior B, Junior C, Senior, U18 AAA, or University hockey for the remainder of the season.
We encourage all members to review the full policy carefully and ensure that teams, players, coaches, staff, and officials are fully informed of these requirements.
