HNB Coach of the Month: Brittany Poitras of Grand Falls, NB
Hockey New Brunswick is pleased to announce Brittany Poitras as the HNB Coach of the Month. Brittany is the Coach of the Jr Cats Under 11 A in Grand Falls.
“In small associations it can be difficult to find coaches for a multiple of reasons. This year it was hard for our association with respect to our Under 11 A team. This year we had to go outside of our association to fill the coaching position for the Jr Cats A team. Brittany Poitras agreed to take on our the Under 11 A team. Her experience as an assistant coach for our local high school female hockey team, and her playing experience with the Aigles Blue of University de Moncton made her a perfect fit!” said one parent.
“She is professional, organized and hard working and truly cares about each of her players. She pushes them to develop with her amazing practices and enjoy the game of hockey. I loved the fact that a young woman was open to taking on a team, and to see her enjoy it as much as the players. She has shown her ability to lead from the start, putting together a team to evaluate players and a neutral coach to run the tryouts for the team. It is also a positive example for the girls on the team to see a woman coach since we usually always have men. Our players are fortunate to have Brittany's experience and abilities, they will learn so much from her this season.”
Brittany will receive a Bauer Coaches bag, a 1-year subscription to the Hockey Canada Network, and a CoachMate package from Hockey New Brunswick. To nominate someone for Coach of the Month click here: https://hnb.ca/en/coaches/coach-of-the-month
