Hockey New Brunswick Bantam & Midget Female AAA Programs

Attention: Female Bantam and Midget Age Players.

This is an identification camp to determine the interest and commitment for females in New Brunswick to play Female AAA Hockey for the 2016 – 2017 season. It is also an opportunity to provide feedback and input to assess potential changes to the current Female AAA structure in the province. We are reviewing the Female AAA Hockey Model in NB and we want to hear from you.

Hockey NB is excited to announce a new Male Under 13 Program. This program will run as an introduction to the High Performance Program and is open to any male player currently rostered on a Peewee AAA team in New Brunswick.

Jacob LeBlanc’s invitation to the NextGen Prospects Camp is a family affair

Jacob LeBlanc, his mom, Cynthia, and his three siblings buckle up as they depart their Moncton, N.B., home for Toronto. Amid the snacks and distractions necessary to sustain five people on a two-day, 15-hour, 1,500-kilometre road trip are the baggage and belongings needed for a week away from home. In the midst of it all sits a sled.

2016 Maritime Hockey North Junior Championship

Championship Schedule

The Tri-County Complex will be hosting the 2016 Maritime Hockey North Junior Hockey Championships from March 30th - April 3rd, 2016. This tournament will showcase teams from across the Maritimes including Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Nunavut, and New Brunswick. As the host team, the Rivercats will certainly be a fan favorite. Games will run from 4:00pm on Wednesday, March 30th until the gold medal game at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 3rd. A tournament schedule is posted on our Tri-County Complex website ( as well as the event’s Facebook page (2016 Maritime Hockey North Junior C Championships).

Reffing Runs in the Family

Among the 32 registered HNB officials from the regional hockey scene, four are father-son duos who proudly wear the stripes and who are from the Grand Falls, New Brunswick area.

Two of the sets are dads- Danny Michaud and Luc Martin- who started reffing and their boys later became officials. The other two sets are sons- Nicholas Sirois and Alexis Martin who then inspired their fathers Luc and Mario, to start refereeing.

Meghan Mallette officiates MHL Regular Season Game

Mallette Becomes First Female To Officiate MHL Regular Season Game
History was made in St. Stephen, New Brunswick on Friday night when for the first time in MHL history, a regular season game featured a female among the officiating crew. Meghan Mallette was one of two referees for the game between the County Aces and Summerside Western Capitals.
Mallette, a native of Fredericton, is currently in her 14th season as an official. During that time, she has worked eight CIS National Championship events, the Woman’s World and Under-18 Championships, the Youth Olympic Games and has officiated Team Canada and USA training camp events.

Hockey New Brunswick is pleased to announce the coaching staff’s for this years High Performance Program.

The Male Under 14, Male Under 15, Female Under 16, and Female Under 18 teams will compete against the provincial teams from Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador at the Atlantic Challenge Cup, held in Moncton, NB from October 7-10, 2016.

27th Annual Hockey New Brunswick Fundraiser

Hockey New Brunswick is a non-profit organization responsible for governing amateur hockey in the province. There are over 25,000 New Brunswick residents involved in hockey as players, coaches, officials, administrators and volunteers.

2015-2016 marks the 27th Annual HNB fundraising campaign. This campaign is a provincial fundraising program aimed toward keeping the cost of participation in amateur hockey to a minimum, while providing an opportunity for minor hockey associations, teams, and athletes to raise money for their groups.

Fredericton, NB – Hockey New Brunswick is proud to announce the players who will make up the 2016 edition of the Male Under 16 team.

Team New Brunswick will be competing in the QMJHL Gatorade Excellence Challenge.  The event will take place April 28th-May 1st in Blainville-Boisbriand, Quebec.  

New Brunswick will be competing against the provincial teams from Nova Scotia, PEI, Newfoundland and Labrador, and two teams from Quebec.
