HNB Female Players selected to attend 2018 IIHF Global Girls Game

Fredericton, NB – Two players from New Brunswick are Toronto-bound next month to represent their province on the ice at an international event featuring female players from across the country.

Abby Kane and Abby Randell are preparing to lace up their skates on March 11th at the 2018 IIHF Global Girls’ Game in Toronto. The pair were selected by Hockey New Brunswick’s Female Commission to participate in the game, which is being hosted by Hockey Canada and the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association as part of the International Ice Hockey Federation’s Global Girls’ Game.
This year, 37 member federations will take part in the game that will begin on the other side of the globe and continue in rinks around the world until it finally wraps up in Canada.Abby Kane, is a 13-year old forward from Moncton who plays with the South East Female Bantam Stars.
Abby Randell, is a 13-year old forward from Saint John who plays with the River Valley-Saint John Snipe-Hers Bantam team.
The 2018 IIHF Global Girls’ Game gets underway in Toronto on March 10th with the Global Game on Sunday March 11th.  The weekend will also encompass various team activities both on and off the ice for the participating players from all across the country.  Hockey NB would like to congratulate both girls as they will be great hockey ambassadors for New Brunswick and wish them the best of luck on the ice in Toronto.
