Podium Performance Series
Fredericton, NB – The Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic, in conjunction with Coach NB, are pleased to present their Podium Performance session on The Basics on Concussions by Geoff Mabey, a certified Athletic Therapist with Max Health Institute Quartermaine Sport Medicine Clinic. Geoff has been an athletic therapist since 1999 and has experience working with high performance athletes from Hockey Canada, the AHL, and Canada Basketball.
Geoff`s talk will be on sport related concussions. The dangers and risk of concussions will be addressed as well as management of this type of injury and its impact on athlete’s at all competitive levels. In this seminar there will be a general overview of what a concussion is and how an athlete is affected. Basic concussion rehabilitation procedures will be reviewed and as well as a protocol for safe return to play. Mr. Mabey will provide an overview of the current studies on the dangers of traumatic brain injury including concussions.
