Female U13 Development Camp

For Immediate Release
May 30, 2016
Female Under 13 Development Camp Now Available for Registration!
Hockey NB is excited to announce a new Female Under 13 Program. The new initiative stems from Hockey Canada’s “Project 2022” program that is preparing female athletes to compete for a position on Canada’s National Women’s Hockey team in the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, China.
The U13 program will run as an introduction to the High Performance Program and is open to any 2004, and 2005 born female player currently rostered on an HNB approved team. The camp will be run in conjunction with the Female U16 and Female U18 Hockey Development Festival.

The camp will consist of 4 Ice sessions. There will be one Skills practice, one small area games practice, one inter-squad game, and an on ice Skills Combine led by Hockey Canada. The Skills Combine will evaluate players speed, agility, and overall skating ability. Players will be provided with their times and rankings no later than 2 weeks after the camp.
The Female U13 Development Camp will also include off-ice presentations on fitness, nutrition, as well as what to expect in the Female U16 High Performance Program. The camp will take place in Fredericton, N.B. at the Aitken University Centre on August 5th & 6th.
The goal of this camp is to offer female players a High Performance experience as well as give them and introduction to the High Performance Program. They will receive a Hockey NB jersey and t-shirt, and will be instructed on-ice by our High Performance Coaches. The Under 13 program is a great development opportunity for young female players and promises to be a positive hockey experience for all participants.
