High Performance Program – 2015-16 Process

The high performance program in New Brunswick is offered annually in the following five divisions:

  1. Male Under 14
  2. Male Under 15
  3. Male Under 16
  4. Female Under 16
  5. Female Under 18

Each of these teams follows a different process, which are identified and explained below.

Male Under 14

Spring Camp / HNB Cup

 

-       Held mid-April

-       Open identification camp – any 13 year old male player (as of Dec 31st), who’s signed with a Peewee AAA team can attend

Summer Camp / Hockey Development Festival

-       Held in July/August

-       Between 60-68 players will attend the Summer Camp

-       5 days & 4 nights

-       Players are selected from the HNB Cup

Atlantic Challenge Cup

-       Held Thanksgiving Weekend – Friday-Monday

-       20 players to make up Team New Brunswick

-       Compete against Nova Scotia, PEI & Newfoundland and Labrador in a round robin tournament

Male Under 15

 

Spring Camp / HNB Cup

-       Held mid-April

-       One weekend event

-       Any player rostered to a Bantam AAA Major or Minor team can attend.

-       Male U15 coaching staff will evaluate players, and select the top 40 players to attend the Hockey Development Festival.

Summer Camp / Hockey Development Festival

-       Players are selected from the group that attended the HNB Cup

-       40 players will attend HDF (4 goalies, 12 defense, 24 forwards)

-       Held in July/August

-       5 days & 4 nights

Atlantic Challenge Cup

-       Held Thanksgiving Weekend – Friday-Monday

-       20 players to make up Team New Brunswick

-       Compete against Nova Scotia, PEI & Newfoundland and Labrador in a round robin tournament

 

Male Under 16

Summer Camp / Hockey Development Festival

-       34-44 players will attend HDF

-       Held in July/August

-       5 days & 4 nights

QMJHL Challenge

-       Held in May

-       20 players to make up Team New Brunswick

-       Compete against Nova Scotia, PEI, Newfoundland & Labrador, and 2 teams from Quebec.

Female Under 16

 

Spring Camp / HNB Cup

-       Held mid-April

-       Open identification camp – any female players aged 13-15 (as of Dec 31st) can attend

-       Players are selected from the group that attended the HNB Cup

-       40 players will attend HDF (4 goalies, 12 defense, 24 forwards)

-       Held in July/August

-       5 days & 4 nights
